When the gemstone is transparent, Ruby is one of the most expensive precious gemstones on the market. When it is opaque, the price comes into the realm of affordability. The beautiful color tone of these faceted rondelles is the rich reddish color that makes such a statement! Diameters range from 3.8 to 3.9mm and are very uniform shaped and faceted. Strand length is about 15 inches.

This is real Ruby! It's not widely known, though, that the opaque form of Ruby is far more affordable than the transparent type (the kind usually used in calibrated sizes for rings). Beautiful Ruby Faceted Teardrops will make an unusual centerpiece for a dainty necklace or as drops for earrings! Better "in person" than can be shown by this picture. This batch has not been dyed - but has been heat-treated to enhance the natural color. Holes in beads of this kind can be very small - when we received them, they were strung on wire measuring 0.27mm in diameter. Sold by carat, sizes are given for reference; size ranges overlap because some drops are thinner/thicker than others.
